    Rr1050

    Hi All
I have a new (few weeks) RSX1056. I have had a few problems with the remote - sometimes it freezes up on a particular input and to get it to do anything you have to pull a battery and reload it then it seems ok. The other thing is the backlighting seems to intermitently not work or not stay on long enough to see the button your looking for. Has anyone had this problem ? Apart from these glitches it's an excellent remote - controls everything I have without problem.

I've seen the remote lock up from an bad learned code. You can start making mental notes as to what device you are using when it locks up and see if it's consistent.

But since you seem to be having backlight problems as well, might as well call Rotel. That should be something they just send out a new one for.

Wow.. didn't even think of that one... That's a good place to start. I've seen DOA batteries before.

A better suggestion would be to get a Mx850 universal remote control.

            yes, that's a better suggestion.
spending a lot of money instead of buying a few batteries.

Well although the batteries tested ok with the multi meter and the battery indicator was not showing on the remote display - new batteries seems to be the fix !! As far as buying a universal remote - why would you ? This remote does everything for all of my components (6 of them ). How could a universal remote be any better than this ?
