    Picked up my 1060 dvd player last night!

    Picked up the 1060 I ordered yesterday! .construction wise this is the nicest DVD/CD player I have had,,feels very solid.Does pretty good on the "knock" test.Did a quick calibration and watched Daredevil,picture is great,no goofy video artifacts noticed.As a CD player it kicks butt Nice menu system.Only thing I dont really care for is the remote,tiny buttons and writing,7 out of 10 times I'm pointing it backwards ops: .Overall I am Very happy with it.System is all Rotel now,1055, 1070 amp for fronts ,and now the 1060.Kinda funny,9 months ago,all I knew about Rotel is that is was cheese. :LOL: .
    Just want to thank all you guys for the good info/help etc on this forum,did a good job helping me spend $$.

      is it really worth it to buy a rotel dvd player over a panasonic w/ the faroudja chip? if so, why?
      I'm just sittin here watchin the wheels go round and round...

          I was looking for very good redbook CD performance also.Maybe my vision isnt as good as some,I have never noticed that HUGE a PQ difference between all the various DVD players I have seen or owned.Even the Pioneer 434 I had wasnt that bad,and the Secrets of HT site flunked it in almost all tests.
          So ,basically,the picture is great,does redbook CD's great,DVD A real good,and it matches my other stuff,and its good looking.

              Greg,

              Good to hear your happy with you 1060. I can't seem to find any info on the new 1040, so I think I'm going to follow suit and pick up a 1060 too.

                  is it true that the Rotel RDV-1060 can't play a DVD+RW?

                  I have a lot of home made DVD+RW. I am still interested in the Rotel RDV-1060 player. But is it true that it is not possible to play a DVD+RW (made on my computer and a lot of digital Hi-8 film on it). My ordinary Philips DVD-player (4 years old) can handle it!
