    New(to me) RDV-1060: 0/1 with DVD-A

Just picked up a used RDV-1060 in great condition. Went to best buy today to get a DVD-A and picked up Foo Fighters One By One . Put the disc in and go to the main menu without problem, but locks up when asked to play either 2ch or 6ch tracks. The version of software on the player is 1.22. I have already asked to the seller to talk to the dealer he purchased the unit from, to see if he can get the CDR with ver 2.12.

So, do think updating to ver 2.12 will fix the problem? Or have I found another problem disc?

    Thanks for any input,
    Matt

PS: The RXS-1056 will be arriving on Thursday, Christmas never ends

Considering the fixes that have been put in place, it would surely be a good start! That's got to be an old version as I don't thin kwe've ever seen a 1.XX version come up before.

Well, the original dealer claims not to know of any upgrades discs. My local dealer is not much help either. For them, Rotel is "Entry Level" and there nose is a little high in the air to help.

Is there anybody who would be willing to copy the update CDR and send it to me? I would be more than glad to pay any cost(blank CDR, shipping, etc).

      thanks,
      Matt

Kevin, I was unaware any rdv units had upgrades available. Browsing Rotel does not show anything. Is there an update for the 1050 and how would I check the version now using my 1050's remote?

I've only seen upgrades for the 1060 and haven't seen too many issues with the 1050's.. The 1080 might have something, but I don't believe it's user serviceable.

Well, I finally got the dealer to help. We installed the update, and now I have version 2.12. I used the Diana Krall DVD (couldn't find the the Linda DVD locally). However, the Foo Fighters DVD will still not work. It loads the first track and even shows the picture on the video output, but won't start the track. I will let Rotel know I may have found another trouble disc. It is released by RCA/BMG, wouldn't have figured to have a problem. Another interesting thing, the screen color has changed from green background to blue. Do you know if this is related to the update? Has this happened to anyone elso who has done the update? I will try to find one of the Beethoven DVD to try and see if it has any problems with it.

                  RDV1060 DVDA Problem
                  by fordster
I've had my RDV1060 for a few weeks now and finally got round to buying a DVD Audio (Under Rug Swept - Alanis Morrisette). When I insert the disc the player picks up that it is a DVDA and shows 96-24MLP on the display. However, that's about all that happens beyond a bit of clicking. The timer eventually...

Dear Rotelians, I need again your help.

After five months of use, my RDV-1060 stopped reading any disks.

I sent it to the Spanish distributor through my local dealer and they have agreed to replace it for a new one, but I just want to make sure the new unit brings the latest...

                  progressive on RDV1060
                  by sirbogey
My RDV1060 came back from Rotel with an exchanged tray. When I put in a DVD or CD, it takes like 10 secs for the disc to load. This was a matter of 2-3 secs before. What have they done to it?

Another question: I changed the picture to watch a movie in progressive mode. When I do that,...

                  DVDA/SACD Connections to 1066
                  by Mike Hayes
I am considering purchasing a Pioneer 563A ($180) universal player to replace my Toshiba SD5700. I am currently using just the digital connection (not using the 5 analog cables for DVDA). This will be my first experience with DVDA/SACD in conjunction with my 1066 so please bear with me.

I have my configuration since October last year and from the start I have a problem with my RDV1060 and RSP1098 that if correct all users of the SCART connection should have. If the RDV1060 is connected to my TV through the SCART connection and the DVD-player is set on SCART then the TFT on the 1098...
