    1068 sound problem

hi i just bought 1068 yesterday, i connect everything right but cant get the sound, it seems that 1068 dont get the signal from dvd player denon 2910, which was ok with my denon receiver, the 1068 never swith to digital coax, i tried optics, same problem, finally i can get the 1068 switch to coax but still no sound, bad unit? my AC power is not grounded but the rotel doesnt has ground AC, it shouldnt be the problem right, please help, thanks

First check which video input in 1068 is your dvd connected to . If for example, it is video 1, and which digital input is it connected to. Im assuming you are getting a video input. Then go to the setup menu, and select the video 1, and check that the audio is set to the correct audio input. If it is coax 1 , then set it to coax 1.

      thanks tony,
I already checked that, but on the system status, the input still shows analog, i tried to switch off the power and wait for a few minute, sometimes it will get the digital coax but still no sound

Check the menu settings on your Denon 2910, esp., ensuring the Digital and DTS bitstreams are enabled.

Also check your trouble shooting guides, sometimes we can overlook the simplest of issues.

        Just my quick thoughts,

I agree with Tony... your input is wrong, it will ONLY show "analog" IF the input is set to analog. If you have it set to coax or optical inputs, it will say that connection "Coax 1" for example and will stay displayed to that selected input. You don't want it on analog.

Now the trick though is, if you hook up the analog inputs from the DVD player as well as a coaxial/optical connection, if it's not on the correct input, you will still get sound through the analog, but not through the digital. So if you have coax 1 as your input from the DVD player, with the analogs also connected, if you have it set to coax2-5 or optical 1-3, it will pull the sound from the analog connections in place of the digital signal. When I did a firmware update on my 1098 I wondered why I couldn't get sound from my dvd player to be in DD/DTS, then I found it I forgot to move it back to the proper input. Once I fixed that it worked correctly again.
          Digital Audio makes me Happy.

Help needed for a novice please!! I have had my RSP-1068 for a year and love it. I have been using a standard DVD player and have connected my audio via a coaxial cable. Why do I need to upgrade my RSP-1068?
              by raduray
Until just a month ago, I had a SD Sony 36” Wega CRT as the video component of my system. Feeding it, using component from the 1068, was an S-Video cable box and a S-Video/Component 480p Pioneer DVD/CD player/recorder. Sound from the Cable Box and the DVD/CD Player was via the digital coax and...

              G'day,

I'm having problems with the component input/output of my RSP-1068.

I finally bought a TV that has component input. I connected my set-top box to the TV via component, and got a great image without any problems after one hour of use. Next I connected the DVD player...

              1068 changing audio modes
              by talannar
I've had my 1068 for about 2 months now. I have my DVR/Cable box plugged into coax 1 and video 1 (component). Since I only have 2 speakers at the moment, I had the 1068 set up for PCM 2ch default. Everything was working well.

Just 10 minutes ago I accidently hit the Tuner button on...
