    problem with 1056

    Hi
Just joined, Been trying out rsx-1056 for weekend after weeks of trying all makes, what a wonderful sound, until my son heard, he is 13 by the way, he said somethings wrong with it, trusting his ears and not my old hippy rock blasted ears .
i decided to investigate, low and behold yes he was right.
Dam, i thought, or words similar, here i had ended my seach for the sound and Rotel deflated me in one swoop.
Here' s the problem: At low volume levels there is a slight hiss on left channel, also sound breaking up with buzz and pop.
Before you ask, tried every way you can emagine to correct it.
It was the amp. I do want another but alot of work trying one in shop, your answer could help me explain also help shop owner when unit gets sent back.
    Thanks
I wrote another thread but i dont know if it was posted so forgive if seen again.

Common problem with some of the first run 1056's.. You can send it in to Rotel for the fix, but I would probably ask for a new replacement from your dealer. Look back in the old thread for 'cracking & hiss'

Your deal will probably just swap it out.

My first one had a similar problem with the static pops every so often. I took it back three days after I purchased it because the dealer had contacted Rotel and set me up with a new one. Absolutely no problems with the new one - no hum, no cracks, no hiss!
An excellent receiver all around - try it with a 1080 driving the mains for music in bypass mode for sure bliss.

I am in the exact same boat. Now everything is peachy, with the 1056 and got the 1080 in the mix, WOW!! I LOVE it!

            thanks guys
dealer getting new one for me .
tell me, good quality coaxial from dvd or optical?
I've been told that coaxial better as the optical digital is converted.
            Any comments?
I have tried both and the optical seems to weaken or tighten base
            but not that much difference.'

If you're a purist just that fact that optical converts from electronic to light and then back again will be enough to keep you on coaxial. Maybe measurable difference, maybe not. Go with what sounds best to you.

soundhound is right on both accounts. For me, it is coaxial all the way. :T

I agree also - coaxail. Optical is prone to breaks if the cable has to be bent at all as well as scratches at tthe tip from connecting and disconnecting.

                      Hi guy's

You know, i thought ROTEL would have fixed this problem by now with their Receivers. My New RSX 1057 has the same hissing issue as the 1056 had. You can hear the Hiss from about 3 feet away. But from my listening position you really can't. I sit about 10-11 feet away. But the...

Over the last few months I have noticed a problem that I thought would go away with time. My system was new a few months back and I thought after alot of break in it would smooth out.

The problem is this hiss on the highs. Maybe a crackle maybe a hiss after someone finishes singing....

As per my previous threads, I recently discover Rotel and so far I am verry impressed and interested. I fond only good comments and reviews, at the exception of the hiss problems. 1st is a general hiss when playing lound, during low passage, 2nd is a hiss comming from the other speakers when playing...

hi, been hearing some issues with hiss with the rotel? In the DSP settings this is going to have this problem? I am VERY concerned about this, i will be getting a unit from my dealer to audition this week. Is this true what i hear about there being a HISS with the newer models, and rotel acknowledges...

As mentioned in a previous thread, I purchased a 1068 last weekend and am still in the learning mode...

I've noticed that I need to adjust the 1068 volume control fairly high to get the sound levels I like. The problem is that I seem to get some hiss on the quieter passages if I've selected...
