    RDV-1050 and no progressive

    Hi All

    I can not get my 1050 to output progressive.

    I push and hold the PROG/VFP for a few seconds, but nothing.

    The progressive light does not come on.

    Plus my 1098 TFT screen does not show the movie playing at all

    Any tips ?

    I have reset the 1098, any way of reseting the DVD ?

          You have to put the switch on the back to REMOTE before the progressive button will work. If you always want progressive, set the switch to 480P. As far as the video not on the 1098, you have to have the composite cable hooked up as well to see it on the 1098. Unfortunately, when you do get progressive on, the 1050 will turn off the composite output.

              Thanks, I was 100% sure that switch was in remote mode as it was working and then just stopped.

              But, your right. it was not in remote mode...

              Plus I fixed the 1098 not displaying the DVD pict on the TFT. Not usre if it was from a loose cable or from the firmware upgrade I did.

                  Hi,

                  My setup is: 1098,1075,1050
                  and the problem is that when I play a DVD or a CD a get after few minutes a sudden silent break. It is seldom or never at the same place at the discs, the only thing thats certain is that it will occour from time to time, and it is really annoying....

                  After concluding all the (required) connections I found out that there's a problem displaying (progressive or not) an 1060 image on the Plasma screen.

                  Have I done a wise thing. I bought the RDV-1050 today to go with the rest of my system. How do you guys and maybe girls think this will fit in with the rest of my system?

                  The RSP 1098 TFT screen displays no video unless a usable signal is passed through the composite video connection. However, as pointed out in the RSP 1098 manual not all dvd players, set in progressive mode, output a usable composite video signal. This is true also for dvd players that play dvd audio....
