    Rdv-1050???

Have I done a wise thing. I bought the RDV-1050 today to go with the rest of my system. How do you guys and maybe girls think this will fit in with the rest of my system?

    RSP-1098
    RDV-1050
    RMB-1075
    RB-03 (Bridged for centre channel)
    PMC DB1's front and rear
    PMC TB2M-C
    Rel Stampede sub.

Should I have gone for the 1060 or maybe an Arcam?

    Thanks

Don't really need the trigger on that unit though because it has the auto shut off option which I like.

The HDCD to me is a huge problem with the unit and it is almost to the point of taking it back. HDCD is now what.... 6 years old? Possibly.. I remember it being new when I used to own my Adcom GCD 750 (I loved that unit)....

but still, widely used and appreciated.

Happy new year all of you.

Sure the 1098 has HDCD decoder.
HDCD is nice, even 6 years old, it brings a high improvement over the normal CD (I recognise it especially in the bass, more control, more dynamics and still deep and warm). Shame that there is only few discs that have supported the HDCD. There is some good Jazz and Smooth Jazz musicians that have recorded one or more of their disc's in HDCD. The good thing with HDCD is that they run on normal CD players as well, contrary to other formats that need extra equipment. To me, but that is personal, HDCD sounds better than SACD, for what I have heard 'till now. Honestly said I must agree that I have not much experience with SACD yet, so don't shoot me if I am wrong.

              Asterduc,

The question isnt if 1098 has a HDCD-decoder or not, if you read a thread "HDCD on a RSP-1068/RDV1050 kombo" (or something like that) you will se that 2-3 persons (me included) doesnt get HDCD-decoding to work with the RDV-1050.

I have compared the RDV-1050 to the Arcam Diva DV79 - And i went for the RDV-1050...... there really wasn´t much difference....except the price tag....the arcam is IMHO way overpriced concidered it´s performence.

                Regards /Miagi

                  by miagi
I´m having a VERY annoing problem using the RDV1050 DVD. -Whenever I (or my neighbour for that matter) switch the light on/off in my/his apartment (or my refrigiator turns on/off), the sound dissapear shortly, as if the RDV1050 loses sync (Via coax) to the RSP1068... it does not affect the picture...

Parasound JC-2 and PMC speakers at CEDIA
                  by Chris D
Well, Parasound oriented their presence at CEDIA towards the custom installer, so they weren't showcasing the JC-2. However, PMC speakers was using Parasound Halo products in their displays, so I went over and checked them out. On the home theater display, they were using the C2 and D3 for demo's,...

Just wondering if anyone's seen this yet? I love Tim Burton's films, though they're sometimes a little "off kilter" shall we say, but man that guy's got an imagination! And though strange, his stories are always engrossing, IMO anyways. I'd love to hear some comments on this one. Here's a...
