RB-1080 question - Double Binding Posts

    Hi

I bought a demo Rotel RB-1080 last week to power my front speakers. As it is a demo unit, I did not get a manual with it. The unit has double binding posts on the rear panel.

My Dynaudio speakers does not have bi-terminals for bi-amping/bi-wiring. Does anyone know whether it matters which sets of terminals to hook up the power amps to the speakers? If only one set of terminals are hooked up, does that mean I only get 100W of power per channel?

    Thanks
    Stephen

It does not matter which set of binding post you hook up to - either set you get the full 200 watts per side.

FYI you can easily download the manual from the rotel website, www.rotel.com ...all their manuals are available there for free....I've pulled down all sorts of docs from them to review.

I have done that but their online manual for the RB-1080 must be for the "older" version of the RB-1080 as the rear panel on the manual only shows single binding posts. Needless to say, it will not have answer to the question I was asking.

          Try this link

          http://www.rotel.com/support/pdfs/manuals/RB1090.pdf

It is for the 1090, but has the speaker terminals you refer to?

If so, the info should all be relevant.

          Hope this helps

          Cheers

Maybe a really dumb question: why double speaker terminals for 1080

Hi, I was wondering why each channel of the rb1080 has double terminals? Is this to facilitate biwiring?

To all curious RB1080 owners and potential owners,

I called Rotel tech support personally to clarify the difference between the old and new version of the RB1080. The only difference is that the later version had two additional speaker binding posts added for bi-wiring convienience....

Stupid question, how to connect spades to the WBT 5 way binding post?

            Hello,
I have a Classe Cap2100 amp and I'm trying to figure how to connect spade terminated cable to it?
I can unscrew a part of the binding post but it won't disconnect and I can't see where I shod stick the spade in...?

            Binding posts
            by Rolex
Who makes really good binding posts that are not ridiculously expensive? I'm building a pair of stand mount speakers right now. I'm putting a lot of effort into the veneer, the finish, and the level of detail to get what I want. I've looked at numerous different binding posts before but none have...
