    RSX-1067 - Zone 2 Issue

    Hi Rotel Club,

I recently purchased Rotel's RSX-1067 - and could not be happier with the upgrade in audio quality!!!

With that said - there is one frustration :x - that I have not been able to resolve. I can not get Zone 2 (my backyard) to work correctly. I have read the post about following the correct steps and performing a factory reset and tried to do this but it did not seem to work. I am not sure that I am doing this correctly.

I am hoping that a fellow Rotellian (is that what we are called?) can lay out this fix - step-by-step - basically, idiot proof it for me.

I currently have the Zone 2 speakers wired into the CB1 and CB2 positions. I have the front speakers set to Large and the CBs set to Small2. I have tried to simply send the Tuner to Zone 2 - but it doesn't work.

When I am playing a CD in analog and not in Zone 2 - I can hear some of the highs come through in the Zone 2 speakers.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated ;x(

You need to redirect the center back speakers to Zone 2. You do this from the default page of the menu and you have to reset your unit after you make the change, which wipes out all the changes you have already made.

      Response from Rotel/B&W

      Hi All,

Thanks Goson - between you and Rotel I was able to get them working...

When I posted my request for help here, I also sent an email to Rotel with the same request. This is the response I got from Rotel (less than 12 hours later!)

"You need to redirect the center back channels so that they know to power the Zone 2 information instead of any center back information. To do this you simply enter into the OSD and then go to the Main Menu. Select the Default Setup from the Main Menu screen and enter into the default setup screen. Inside of the Default Setup you should see an option for CB redirect (center back redirect). You need to select this option and change the CB Redirect from CB to Zone. Before you exit this screen you will need to move to the factory default option and change it from NO to YES and then hit the enter button on your remote. This action will reset the unit and make the redirect option actually take effect. Keep in mind that this is going to completely reset your receiver so you may want to make notes of any settings that you have customized within the unit since you will need to go back and make the changes again. This is all that is required to get the center back speakers to change to power the Zone speakers. If you want to call our technical support department for more help you can reach us at 800-370-3741."

Pretty straightforward - that is why I asked for the "idiot-proof" version

I think 1067 is not a bad choice
try some special brands or speakers
        and you will see :T

RSX 1067 Zone 2 - No left channel
          by Robo1067
          Greetings,
Well I finally got around to installing the 2nd zone, using the redirection of my mains.
I am using a power amp and pre-outs for the movie room.
So after running cables, and doing a 'reset to default' to enable the zone redirect feature etc, once set up there is no left...

RSX-1560: Using CB Amps for Zone 2
          by njarwala
          Hello,

I have a Rotel RSX 1560. My setup is 5.1 and I do not have Center Back speakers. I want to configure the receiver so that I can use the two Center Back amps to power speakers in my backyard - as Zone 2. I can't seem to get it to work.

Here is what I have already...

Products: Rotel 1066 and RR-969 remote Control

I am at the tail end of adding a Logitech Harmony to my parents' Home Theater.

They have a Rotel 1066 receiver along with the Rotel RR-969 remote.

Zone 2 works great when accessed via the front Zone button on...

          Help - RSX-1055 / RB-1050 - redirect feature
          by dmcgowan
Just relocated my gear in our living room and I'm having a bugger of a time to get the redirect to work again. I used to have the RB-1050 driving the front left and right channels but decided that it would be better to use the RB-1050 for the 2 x centre back channels.

          Sure it is all connected...
