    HCDC - RSP 1068 and RCD 1072

I am buying a RCD 1072 and an RSP 1068 pre-amp/processor (plus the RMB 1075). Unlike the RCD 1072 and the RSP 1098 the Rotel website does not reference HCDC with the RSP 1068. What does this mean from a sound standpoint?

I'm going to be running B&W 803S speakers and most likely the HTM3S center channel. I don't know what the rear speakers will be yet. Any thoughts on the amp and pre-amp with this system?

You miss-typed, it is HDCD. The RSP1068 seems to support it (check Rotel's website). But you should try using your RCD1072's DACs anyway, so try plugging the CD player in analog (with good cables) and setting the RSP1068 in "direct analog stereo" mode. You can compare this with using a digital coax: then your processor will be doing the digital to analog conversion. I would suspect the RCD1072 being better than the RSP1068 for doing the 44.1kHz D/A conversion.
