    1070 or 1080

    Hi guys,
haven't posted on here for a while so hello to all. :T
I have the upgrade bug again and want to get a power amp.
I have the RSX1055 powering B&W 602's fronts and trying to decide between the RB1070 & 1080. I probably wont be upgrading my speakers for a long time and the 1070 is significantly cheaper. Just after some thaughts and opinions.

1070 is not significantly cheaper. Here in USA there is only USD 300 difference, I got 1070 first and upgraded to 1080 later 200 wpc vs. 130 wpc!! However, there is not a huge sonic difference, just better dynamics and soundstage. I like the bass better too.

Plus, you'll not suffer from the bug for a while...

      Good luck with your decision

Hre in Aus the 1080 retails for $1599 while the 1070 is $899. Go figure?
I have heard the 602's with a 1075 and they sounded great so my thought process was that the 1070 would just be enough and 1080 would be a bit of overkill considering the center and rears would just be run off the 1055

After discounts the gap should be around $450 to $500 AUS.

RB-1080 or RB-1070 power amp to purchase?
            by thyname
Hi guys: As I am thinking more and more to upgrading to separates, I came to a question of whether should I consider a 2 Ch RB 1080 or RB-1070. I initially thought of just purchasing 1070 as it is USD 300 cheaper and I think 130 W per channel is more than enough. However, I know that 200 per channel...

Well I was sitting in the living room the other day listening to some music through my 1055 (that I bought with the help of advice from you guys)
and all of a sudden it hit me. I wonder how much better tis cd would sound with a power amp. 1070, 1080, maybe a 1075 and later a 1080 and then sell...

Does RB-1070 sound the same as RB-1080?
            by audiofan
            Hi,
I was torned between rb-1070 and rb-1080. Due to the budget constraint, i can afford rb-1070 , even though i would go the route " more power is better" . However, I don't think the gain in db between 1070 and 1080 is much different. What i concern about is the sound between these...
