    used rsp 976

    Hi,

I've been lurking on this forum for a while now. Right now I'm running two channels B&W CM1/CM2s and an audiolab 8000. I'm looking to get something for video switching and a later expansion into home theater. I've been eyeballing either a used 976 or maybe a 1066. I don't mind a lack of 6.1 or 7.1 or 2 channel stereo to 5.1. I am mostly worried about sound quality and the lack of high bandwidth video switching. Also waht would you guys consider a decent price for a used 976?

Not sure on the price of a used 976 but if you can I'd suggest springing for the 1066 if you can. You might also be able to save a little by buying a used 1055 which would get you virtually the same sound quality and all the same features as the 1066

Unless Dolby ProLogicII is a must, I would say go for the 976. I sold mine used (1 1/2 years old) for about $800 US. I ended up getting the 1066. I was perfectly happy keeping the 976, but my wife urged me to buy the 1066 I was using as a loaner while my 976 was being serviced (nothing major). She really likes the DPL II and 5-channel stereo. Other than the features and a little more flexibility in the crossover, I couldn't tell a difference in sound between the 976 and 1066.

        RSP 976 or 1066?
        by june
        Hello All,

I'm looking to upgrade my bedroom system. I want to hook up a Rotel processor to my Yamaha RXV-3000's 6-channel input. What's the difference in sound between the 976 & 1066? It will be running B&W P6 speakers. It's about a $400 difference in the price (pre-owned)....

I have the opportunity to purchase a RSP-976 for $500. Or, I could purchase a new 1066 for approximately $1400. Given the situation described below, I'm tempted to get the 976, but only if the two-channel sound is not dramatically inferior to the two-channel sound of the 1066. If I get the 976, I can...

Putting a system together consisting of a rmp 1066 powering two pairs of

Upgrade from RSP 976 to 1066?
        by mpauline
I am thinking about upgrading from my Rotel RSP 976 to the 1066 solely because I would like to have 6.1 versus 5.1 sound. Is it worth it or am I just buying in to the upgrade fever?

I listened to the 1066 at the dealers with 6.1 and honestly I could not really tell any difference. I thought...

        Advice on RSP 976
        by luszer
Has there been comparisons on the 976 vs RSP 1066. Has anyone traded up to the 1066 from the 976, if so, what were the improvements over the older model. Have there been any issue with the 976 that I should be aware about, also, likes and dislikes.
One additional question: Is anyone using an...
