    RX 1052 and B&W 804S

I'm sold on the B&W 804S speakers and I'm considering buying the RX 1052 to go with them. In addition, I'm considering the RCD 1072 player. I will be using Kimber Kable 8VS speaker wire and the Kimber Kable Hero Interconnect. It was also suggested that I buy a Richard Grey 400 Power Conditioner. As this is my first high-end system in 20 years, I would like to hear other opinions.

Have you compared the 804S to the N804? You may want to save some money on the speakers by getting yourself a nice deal on a pair of (occasion) N804 and demo them with a better amp, as the RX-1052 may not be the best choice for a pair of 804's...

I actually demo'd the 804S with the N803's. (The price was comparable.) I plan to listen to mainly jazz and according to B&W the 804S was designed for this type of music and I like the sound of the new crossover. The main problem was that I was demo'ing these speakers with a Rotel amp and not the RX-1052. I am concerned about the receiver. I don't want the receiver to become a problem.

Hi, so I am in the market for some new floorstanders as an upgrade to my recently sold 805S. I have already budgeted money for either the 804S or 803S. While auditioning both I also listened to some other speakers, just to make sure I truly wanted to stay with B&W. Of course there are many other...

        RX1052 as preamp with RB1080
        by b&w fan
I just bought a RB-1080 power amplifier (not in yet) which I am going to coupled to a RX1052 receiver that will work as preamplifier. I delayed the purchase of a dedicated preamp just to reduce the pressure on my cash flow. My speakers are a pair of B&W 703.

        Do you think that using...

        2 ch 1069/1070 vs 1052
        by Jagguy
I am an infrequent poster, but constant viewer. With that being said, I am looking for any input on a strictly 2 ch comparison. I have an rx-1052 and rsp 1069 and am trying to figure out which route I should go. Unfortunately I don't have the rb 1070 in order to do the comparison for myself. I am...

I recently added this note to a thread already started but figured i'd get more response from a dedicated thread....

Would it be possible to hook up the rb-1080 to the rx-1052 and run in it in different zones, more than one set of speakers?? I was considering this because i wanted the...

        by Club1820
Hello everyone. Would appreciate some help. I recently purchased a M&K Sub VX-860SF 250 Watts used on Audiogon. The sub was originally purchased in Nov 05' so its pretty much new. I looks beautiful (Cherry Veneer) and does in fact look brand new. I hooked it up last night to my 1052 and was...
