I run my TST off my fronts now. I just have it split off with Y adaptors and the signal goes to my Audiosource monoblock which I have to turn on or off manually when I want to use it. These amps have either a manual turn on, or auto turn on when a signal is present. I'd like to be able to use the TST on the auto setting but then it would play even when listening to music. I'm thinking about splitting the signal off the fronts to the Tape input on the 1068, set Zone 2 to Tape and run that signal to my Audiosource amp? That way, when I want a signal to get to the TST, I can just turn on Zone 2. I realize that the volume controls are different, I think I remember someone asking for "same as main" to the wishlist for Zone 2 volume control... but until that happens, will 70 in the main zone and 70 in zone 2 be equal? I don't have a problem taking a second to set the volume in zone 2 to be the same as the main for a movie, but I want to make sure that they will have the same lever of output. Has anyone done something like this? Are there any other issues I'm not thinking about?

Since the tape input will be the variable out of the fronts, setting zone 2 to fixed output should always make them be the same volume across the board since the input is variable.
The only issue is if zone 2 got accidently set to something other then tape that has a full range signal. Your amps would kick on with a full signal and blow the speakers.
Perhaps leaving the zone 2 on variable and turning it up to full volume when needed, and then turning it back down afterwards.

The only thing that would run off the Zone 2 is the TST so I'm not worried about blowing any speakers and I set the Turn On Volume of Zone 2 to 60 so it won't ever kick on too powerful anyway.
The only way the fronts come into play is that I am running the Front L&R preouts to the Tape L&R input, and then the Zone 2 (set to Tape) out to my TST amp which will kick on only when a signal is present. I was just wanting to know if I have the Zone 2 volume on 70 and the Main zone on 70, if they will both be the same level. It appears that they are, or that the TST through Zone 2 may even be slightly more powerful. I guess I just need a someone to help me again so I can readjust the dial on my TST amp when the volumes are equal for both zones.AJPoe - - Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional!- Bottom

by Bob_CollinsOk guys, I have a question to pose. Are there any Home Theater receivers or processors out that include the venerable, old “tape loop” function? I’m referring to the ability on older stereo equipment to select a source for recording out to the tape outputs, but still allow you to choose to listen...-
