    RSX-1056 LFE in 2CH Mode.

The LFE is illuminated on the display of my RSX-1056 when I am in 2CH mode. Does this mean the lows are sent to the sub by default? Do I need to disable the LFE (from the display) in order to get the low signal passed to the L/R channels? Can this be done using the remote (or on the box) without using the OSD feature?

Go to bypass mode by pressing 2 channel button on receiver or remote until it says bypass and the LFE symbol dissapears. You can also set the sub to off in 2 ch stereo mode in the osd, but I prefer to leave it so I can switch (By using the 2 ch button) between bypass which automatically cancels the sub and 2 ch with sub.
Hope I did not confuse you.

Thanks Kens1 I will give this a try.

By the way, you didn't confuse me, although I had to read it twice just to make sure I got what you said.

That's good rebelman because I was confused when I read it back to myself but I don't really know how else to explain it. Just press 2 ch button until it reads bypass and LFE dissapears.
Hope it works for you and enjoy.
I think the 1056 in bypass mode coupled with the 1080 sounds excellent for music. With the 1080 I hardly ever use the sub for listening to music anymore.
PS. Get back to me on how you enjoy those beautiful speakers you bought - I'm sooo jealous!

Kens1, thanks for the advice. I was able to disable (bypass) the LFE as you described, but it seemed to depend on the type of input source (connection) I was using. When the DVD player was connected to the VIDEO1 input, it wouldn't work. However, when it was connected to the CD input, it worked just fine. Have you noticed this too?

By the way, bypassing the LFE made a huge difference in 2CH mode, and your right, it sounds awesome.

I believe with a digital connection (such as your dvd player) bypass will not work. To disable the sub you will have to go into the osd and select video one and then choose to have no sub with this source. This will be a pain if you use your DVD player as cd player. The best way to overcome this is to run the digital cable to video one for DVD and then run RCA's out of your dvd player (provided it has them) and into the cd input in the back of the 1056 and then you can switch back and forth.

Yeah, that's exactly what I ended up doing.

Sorry for no doubt a stupid question, but this is my first multi channel equiptment

On my RSX 1056 I can select 2-channel mode to get (I think) stereo sound, blocking all channels but the fronts. The first time I press the '2 ch' button I go into 2 channel + LFE mode. Push it...

                Hello,

I'm new to these forums. Mainly here just to get an answer or clarification on my issues.

I just bought a second hand RSX-1056 for my near-field monitoring studio.

I'm going from DAW - Digidesign 003 Rack (DAC) - Rotel Amp then to a 2.1 speaker setup...

Rotel RSX965 5.1ch input mode LFE problem
                by craby
                Hello,

I have a Rotel RSX 965, which has been serving me quite nicely for about the last 12 years. I decided to put some more life into it, so I bought an Oppo BDP 83. The oppo is connected to the rotel by an analog to DB25 cable, and I use the 5.1ch input mode to effectively just make...

                Preamp choices: RSP1068 or RSX1056 or AVR3805?
                by csuzor
Is the better choice the RSP1068 or RSX1056 for pre-amp duty?

I will add the RMB1066 (in bi-amp mode) or the RMB1075.
I am upgrading from a denon1804 to drive B&W700series in 5channels only (no sub yet)

Being budget limited, choosing the RSX1056 allows me to...
