Subwoofer setup on rsx-1056

Hey guys, I've been thinking about getting an external dac (Musical Fidelity x-dac along with their 10D tube buffer out) but am concerned about the bass output. For two channel now without the subwoofer it's missing a little something due to the room size I suppose. And with the external dac feeding into the rotel I do not want the rotel to do any processing that may harm the sound. SO! My thought is to pump the left and right channel outs into the sub and let it do it's thing. With this setup being ideal for music, how would the movie setup suffer? I would have to set the sub to 'NO' because it's running off the mains which obviously causes concerns. Your thoughts?

Hey Chuck I think you'd do ok that way, You're going to run the dac off your cd player and run analog in to the rotel right?

The rotel has an analog mode crossover that leaves the original signal alone, and passes a copy of the signal, to the sub (it passes through a 120hz low pass filter first)
I think it's called direct mode (hit the 2ch button more than once for any analog input)
