The department just got its copy of Sound and Vision Mag, and they have a review of the RSP 1098 in it.

If i get a chance, I will scan it and post it, but I have a draft of a Masters to read, and my graduate student is taking qualifying exams early next week, so I am a bit busy.

Essentially, they really liked it, but did not spend a huge amount of time on sound quality (it is S&V), except to say that it did not have a sound (very desirable as it is neutral and did not color the sound at all). Very detailed, and transparent sound through the 5.1 inputs. They spent a lot of time on features, especially the LCD screen, and very easy to set up.

Wow! George you're over here too. Now all I need to do is see you over at S&V and it will be like in the old days (what last January or so) when we were both trying to decide whether to get a 1066 or Outlaw 950.

Since then my Rotel family has grown. I'm now the proud papa of a RSP-1066, RMB-1095 & RB-1050.

Thanks for the heads up on the S&V article. It's after 11:00 here so it's to late to make a B&N run so I know where I'm going tomorrow morning.

Sooner or later you guys are going to make me trade in my 1066. All this 1098 talk is killing me Maybe I can resist if I keep telling myself to get a projector next year.

good to see you. I pretty much have reduced everything to here, Hometheater Talk, and HTF. Wow, your Rotel family has grown. I have not yet gotten a preamp yet, as we had some unexpected house repairs to do, and the money went poof.

I want the 1066, which would fit the rest of the system. Oh well, maybe soon.

All the 1098 talk on this sight has me wishing I had an extra couple grand for a budget. Not that the 1066 or 1055 are anything to sneaze at but... god this thing sounds like it's one great peice of equipment! :P Anyone have a couple grand (Canadian, for you Americans that's a deal!) lying around they don't need?

Ok review...it could have spent more time talking about how good it sounds on CD's etc but all in all not a bad review
