    DD and DTS bug in 1068

    I have the bug referred to in the thread below in my 1068. I do not have centre front or centre rear speakers.

    Does anyone know if this has been fixed in the recent firmware upgrades or whether Rotel has even acknowledged this is a problem.

      According to Rotel, it isn't a bug but a limitation on processing. The processor has to decode all channels, handle the bass management, and then mix back in channels that you don't have. If you have more than one set of channels that have to be mixed back in, you lose out in dynamic range.

      The best solution is to buy a cheaper 2-channel stereo mixer. Set your center channel on in the 1068. Run the L/R outputs to input 1 of the mixer and run both center outputs to input 2. Run the outputs to you L/R input on your amp. Set the levels on the mixer so that all test tones output the same volume and you'll be set.

                  I've found a DTS bug on a 1068 I was installing the other day. I recreated it on our store 1068, and even my home 1098. Rotel is looking into it, but I'm not sure how seriously. As people have time, if you could do a test for me I would appreciate it.
