    1056 v 1070

I am looking to upgrade my reciever/amp. I have a Yamaha HTR5280(100wpc x5), DM603S3 front, LCR 60 center and DM600 rears. I listen to music/movies/games 33%/33%/33%. I was thinking of getting a rotel 1056, to replace my yahma primariley for better music playback. But was wondering if a 1070 would be better for now for music and a later (years) upgrade of a 5 channel reciever.
    a few other questions

Is it a waste to get a $1300 reciever for $1000 dollar speakers?

    A $1000 amp for 1000 dollar speakers?

Is 75 watts ideal for my level of speaker?

Would a NAD be a better value for my system?
    Thaks in advance.

    Hey Chiller!

Well my opinion is a little biased right now.....but....

I would take the 1056...the two channel on it is sweet....then you would have a 5 channel at the same time......in a few years as you say.......a dedicated 5 channel amp...since the 1056 has all the pre outs on it too...

As for 1000.00$ speakers vs 1300.00$ amp being a waste...definetly not. IMO....

Would NAd be a better option...well.. listen to them both and your ear will tell you which one is better for you...

    Take care...hope this helps!

      Hi Chiller,

I personally would go for the 1056 first. It is more musical than the yamaha and the steering in surround is a bit better.

Then later on you can get yourself a RB-1070 for the front channels. Or try to find a nice RB-991 second hand.

      Regards,
      Eelco

        Rotel 1067 vs 1056 + RB 1070
        by BruinsFan
What's the difference between Rotel 1067 and 1056 + RB 1070 (mains redirected to provide 7.1 setup)? The 1067 would have more power all around but the 1056/1070 would give more and I would think better power to the mains. There's about a $200 price difference I think - so what else am I missing in...

        Another question about 1056 redirect

I know that this issue has been addressed in the forum, and I have done a search to investigate it myself. However, I'm a bit confused and would really appreciate your answers.

I am probably going to get the 1056 and add and amp like the 1070 to power my main speakers for good 2 channel...

Better upgrade: rdc 1072 or rb 1070?
        by spinners
        Hi to all,

I'm new to this forum and this is my first thread.
Last week I bought my first Rotel gear, RSX 1056 and RDV 1050. I was addicted to NAD untill my first experience with Rotel. I used to own NAD reciever, power amp, dvd player and cd player. With the Rotel reciever and...

        RB-1075 vs. 2 RB-1070
        by BruinsFan
ok - not exactly an apples to apple comparison. But I have the 1056. I was thinking of adding a 1070 for the front and then a 1050 for the 4 sets of ceiling mounted speakers I have throughout the house. The guy at the A/V store wasn't sure the 1050 would be enough. He's like yes but to be safe -...

        RSX-1056 annoying issues

        Hey guys,

Been awhile since I posted but hoping someone can steer me in the right direction.

I have a couple things that are getting really annoying. When watching a DTS movie if I pause the DVD player and then un-pause I don't get any sound back. I have to power off...
