Cannot get the OSD to come up, RSX-1055

For some reason I am unable to access the OSD for my RSX-1055. I need to check speaker calibration, etc., but nothing happens when I press the OSD button on my remote. It doesn't help that my RSX1055 manual explains all about the use of the RR-969 remote, but the remote that came with my reciever is the RR-1050!

Do I need to use a certain cable to get this display to work? I am not using any S-video cables, but thought that the cable from the "monitor out" output on the receiver that goes to my TV is a composite cable, so I thought this would work.

Never mind - I figured it out. Just have to be smarter than the remote. All I had to do is change the antenna input on my TV to the composite input in order to see the Rotel OSD. ops:

I am running component video to my projector (Dish Network and Xbox) and a HDMI cable from the OPPO BDP-83 to the projector. I have an S-video cable routed in the wall between the RSP-1066 and the projector but have never used it.

Here's a quote from the Rotel manual that has kept me...

      Rsp 1068 Osd

Recently upgraded firmware and now cannot access the setup menu on rsp 1068. I hit AUD and then Menu/OSD, 1050 remote says OSD but the 1068 panel does not change. Other buttons on the remote work such as vol, on and off, sub, and others. The 1050 also works with other units (TV, CD, Phono).

When hooking up a progressive scan DVD player, the RSP-1066, and a digital tevevision with composite video: Do you just do composite video from the DVD, to the 1066, then composite to the TV? What are you all doing for this onfiguration? Thanks in advance

      Cable Question
      by mike in denver
I recently purchased my Rotel Seperates and have been having fun cableing them up. I have a question on video cables. My old tv (toshiba blackstripe circa 1984) does not have a component or s-video input. I am assuming I need a composite cable for this link. Do I then still use a component video...
