Are all newer amps INTERNALLY fused?

In swapping around cables the other day, I managed to have lost a channel on my 1075. Imagine my surprise when I discovered there were no external fuses on the back panel. The fuses...all TEN of them are mounted internally! Call me old-school, but what a hassle unhooking half a dozen wire harnesses to get to the fuses. Are ALL of the newer amps designed this way? (Both 2ch and multi-channel) And why? tia...steve

You did turn off and unplug the amp before moving things around right?? I think that's step one in the manual.

Some of the amps have external fuses, but that's mainly for the power supply inputs.. Besides the 1080, usually if an internal fuse blows it needs to be taken down and checked out anyway to find out why..

Bigger amps and <4 Ohm designs

I never really gave much thought about the differences between amps, since I'm not really convinced that different amps can sound *that* different (you know, the Julian Hirsch school of thought)...

Anyway, someone offered me a pair of Channel Islands D-200 amplifiers for a great price,...

      Considering purchase of used RB-1080
      by Simplton
Hello! It's been ages since I posted on these forums. I currently have a RMB-1075 powering my B&W DM604 S3 mains, a LCR600 center, and some DM302 sorrounds. I'm considering the purchase of a used RB-1080 to power my mains. The left over channels on the RMB-1075 will then power my rear surrounds....

      Odyssey Amps

I first became aware of the Odyssey brand over four years ago.

About the time I got my Rotel RB-1090 was when I was seriously looking at their power amp product line, however I never got past the point of browsing their web site before getting the Rotel (in fact, a dear friend and former...

Help on which fuses to get
      by belzarrath
Last week I blew two fuses in my RB985. The fuses are to old to read.
I believe they are a 6amp 125volt porcelian fuse. I do not know if they are fast or slow blow fuses, I assume it is fast blow.

Can anyone verify the type of fuses which I need. I am also having trouble finding...
