    Amp Advice Needed...

So I'm upgrading my system components and getting rid of my Teac AG-H550 in favor of MSB Gold Link DAC, MSB Digital Director, and MSB MVC-1 (multi-volume control). Currently I have a Rotel RB-1070 powering a pair of B&W 603 s3 with my old pair of 602 s2 powered by the teac for rears.

So I was thinking about a RB-1050 for the rears. And then it occured to me to look at a better amp for the fronts and put the 1070 on the rear. My current thought is a pair of RB-980BX's in mono for the fronts.

Any thoughts on this? Better suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Neil

That would work or just get the 1080 and call it a day. I really love my 1080 amp

      Rb 980 Bx

I have three RB 980 BX for front left, right, center running in passive bi-amp. That's 120 wpc each to top and bottom. Running these amps in mono will give you 3 times the power (360 amps) with slightly higher distortion and a bit more noise. I prefer using these bi-amped. See thread here http://www.htguide.com/forum/showthr...highlight=mono

I agree with Andrew...the 1080 would work great, too.

        RB-1080 - Help

        Hi Guys,

I recently bought a used RB-1080 on Audiogon. After hooking it up in my system (I replaced RB-980 BX with RB-1080), I noticed that I am not getting any thing out of my right speaker. I double checked all my connections and every thing looks okay. I switched the input connections...

Rotel RB-1070 Minimum Impedance in MONO Mode

Hi there.. I'm ordering B&W 803S speakers, powered by Rotel 1080.
As Pre/Pro i'm using Denon 3808 reciever, so for the front speakers power make RB-1080 (which is very nice and for the price is best at my opinion).

I'm thinking how to power B&W HTM3s center speaker and...

The Teac DV28SL is the slot load drive used by the CDP(T)-300 players. According to the Teac specification sheet it is able to play back DVD-RAM. I was just curious if any owner can confirm or deny.

        Here is the spec sheet...

        Rotel 1080 Outlaw 2200 Yamaha RX_v2500
        by rav934
Spent considerable time this weekend comparing the Rotel 1080 and Outlaw Mono block 2200 amps driven by the RX-V2500 pre-amp with B&W 804s speakers.

Listened to jazz, rock, big band, classical.

        My impressions:

RX-V2500 direct to 804s...decent bass but...

        1080 for center speaker?
        by probeski
Hi, I plan on getting B&W 704 for L & R and the HTM7 as a center. I wish to power the 704's with a 1080 and the HTM7 with another 1080. Will this stereo amp be okay at powering the HTM7 using either the Left or right channel (mono)? The HTM7 is bi-wirable, do you think i should bi-amp the...
