Which amp is better. Rotel 1095 or Sherbourn 1500A

    Guys
A friend of mine has asked me to find out which of these two power amps is better .
They are both rated @ 200WX5. I am not interested in price comparissons as he plans to buy used.
    The two amps are
    Rotel 1095 and Sherbourn 1500A.
As you all know I am a Rotel owner and love the product but am hesitant to say it is better or even the equal of the Sherbourn since I have never seen or heard one.
Please give your opinions and what you consider to be the pluses and minus of each. The best would be from someone whom has done A/B but I know that is not likely.
    Thanks
    Steve

Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity has good reviews of both the 1095 and the Sherbourn, though the reviews were not done by the same person. John E. Johnson, editor in chief and reviewer of the 1095, did end up keeping the 1095 for one of his setups.

I personally would give the nod to the 1095 only because I think the 1095 is a more attractive looking piece of equipment than the Sherbourn. Performance-wise I dont think either is a wrong decision.

        Different 1095 Versions
        by janmike
        Hello All,

I have been looking to add a second Rotel Amp to my system. I currently own a 1080 and would like to add a 1095. I notice that the 1095 has a 12V trigger (as per Rotel web site) and I am currently looking at one that does not have this feature. Did Rotel produce more than...

which (Rotel) amp is good enough for driving HTM-1?
        by tmt
I post this already in the Rotel forum, since it's about powering a B&W speaker I'm gonna try it in here.

I recently did some major upgrades to my stereo/HT system.
I upgraded my main (crappy) speakers to B&W N802 and the center to a HTM-1.
        The 802s are powered by...

The 802s are powered by a Classe CA-401 which kicks *ss in stereo mode, but the rest of the speakers are still connected to my Denon 3300. That´s...

Can the RMB-1095 drive 2.5 ohm speakers?

        G'day,

I've got an opportunity to demo the following speakers at home for a week:

I've heard these speakers before on other equipment, and they sound wonderful, but I'm worried about driving them...

        Rotel Firmware update -- info
        by chamath
I would like to share my 2nd upgrade experience with you so hopefully you would not run into the same issues I had. I have a Rotel RSX-1057; however, the issue described below would apply to any upgrade as it was not a Rotel problem.

        Firmware: (1057)
        my system = 2.1.2
