    1062 and cdm 7nt

Excellent website. I am so glad to find it.

I am powering my B&W 7nt speakers with a 1062 integrated. A friend of mine over for a listen suggested that i was underpowered. I've been given advice to add a RB 1070 amp. Is this really necessary to get the best 2 channel sterio sound or is the 1062 enough? Would addition of the amp bypass the powersupply of the integrated and effectively make it a preamp? I read the hi-fi award review of the 1062 posted on the rotel website and it said the unit was powerful enough for most speakers.

    Thanks for any advice.

I've really enjoyed my 7NT being powered by a 1080. I'd say a standalone stereo amp will get the best out of your speakers. I would pick a 1080 over a 1070, which I'm sure is not bad by any means, if you can.
