Connecting a Tuner to the 1068

    Hello,

I own a 1068, 1075 and RSX-972 receiver. The receiver is currently being used to Power a 2nd zone setup in my house.

What I would like to do is to use this 972 as a tuner for my 2nd zone setup. Thus, the receiver will be acting as both the amplifer and tuner for the 2nd zone setup. Is this possible?

If so, where would I connect the RCA cables leading from the tuner output on the receiver to the 972?

    Thanks,
    Chris

Are you wanting to use the tuner in the 976 as the tuner on the 1068 also? If so, it's possible but could be slightly complicated to keep everything straight..

Connect the tape out of the 976 to the 1068 tuner input. Whenever you select tuner on the 976, tuner on the 1068 will work. You can have Tuner on both zones, tuner on zone 2 only, but you can't have tuner on zone 1 and something else on zone 2.

Thanks Kevin. I'll get it a try and see what happens. I only want the tuner for Zone 2 listening.

I don't see why you need to run any RCA cables at all unless i'm not following you on this. If you're using the Rotel receiver as the amp and tuner why can't you simply select the tuner on the receiver and listen to the radio? The 1068 shouldn't come into play at all in this situation...unless you're by passing the volume on the receiver?

          Its because I'm a meatball :-)
I was thinking too much about this. Let me try simply powering the receiver and see what happens.

          Thanks again,
          Chris

            Zone 2 on a 1068
            by chanlon
            Hello,

I own a 1068, 1075 and RSX-972 receiver. I am looking to use the receiver to power a 2nd zone setup in my house. I have a question:

The actual connection between the 1068 & 972 - Run a set of RCA cables from the Zone 2 out on the 1068 to ANY Line In on the 972...

            RC-972 and RSP-976
            by pr2244
            Hello everyone -

My friend recently purchased a new house and is swapping out the existing Home Theater gear with a new setup. He offered some of the old components to me. Included in this group are a couple of Rotel pieces - RC-972 and RSP-976.

            I'm not very schooled...

            Odd RSP-976 remote issues...and a fix!
            by DrJazz
I just wanted to share an odd experience I've been having with my trusty old RSP-976 surround sound processor. For quite some time now (well over a year, maybe more) I've been having one helluva time with the remote control. Specifically, the 976 would only respond intermittently to volume up and down...

            RSP-976 analog inputs not working
            by pasiparkkila
My RSP-976 does not route any of the 2-channel analog inputs to the
surround outs. I.e. when I connect my DVD player to Video 1 using the analog audio inputs I get no sound regardless of what the input setting for Video 1 is in the menu. When I make the audio connection using one of the digital...

            RSX-1056 or RB-976 for fronts
            by Tom Caines
I'm running a RSX-1056 (75W/channel) for 5.1 and have the option to use a RB-976 6-channel (60W/channel) amplifier in bridge mode for 3-channels at 150W/channel for the fronts and redirect the RSX-1056's front amps to drive speakers in another room with Zone 2 material. Alternately, I can let the RSX_1056...
