    RSP-1068 & component up conversion

Well I finally plunge. I bought a Parasound A52 & a Rotel RSp 1068 this weekend. My credit card hurts but my ears and eyes love it

Anyways, I am having a problem with up-conversion of my tv box. In Other Options, I set progressive to V1 (DVD). The TV box is connected to Video 4. I switch my tv to Component, press and hold video 1 and my dvds come up, no problems. However, if I press and hold video 2 to switch, the tv comes up for a moment, then disappears. The same thing happens on Video 1 if I press the OSD button, the video mutes, goes to switch over to the menu but then I "lose" video. I have to switch to my tv's composite input to take it out of OSD to regain the component picture.

My tv is a Samsung 30 inch HDTV - TXN - 3072 WHF (not 100% sure the exact model number), just wondering if it is a TV or pre/proc problem.

    Thanks,

Check the specs on your TV and see if that component video input only supports 480P and higher signals. I ran into a Phillips TV that had one component for 480P+ (where only progressive DVD and HD signals would work) and another component video for 480i (OSD, and no progressive/HD inputs).

Might be the same in your case.

Kevin, thanks for the input. I checked the TV, the connection can take 480i/p and 1080i. I have an xbox that is doing 480i on it.Hum, any other ideas?

What happens if you set progressive to "all" in the other options menu OSD?

Rotel 1060 Video connection with 1098/Plasma.
            by >>Angel<<
            Dear Rotel enthousiasts,

Yesterday I bought a Pioneer plasma screen to complete my Rotel setup
After concluding all the (required) connections I found out that there's a problem displaying (progressive or not) an 1060 image on the Plasma screen.
            I really hope...

            RSX-1055 Component video inputs
            by ghrays
I recently changed my video display from a Pioneer elite PROHD510 with multiple component video inputs to a Panasonic 50" plasma HDTV with only one component video input. Therefor, I am using the component video switcher on the Rotel 1055 for the first time, to switch between my progressive scan...

Rotel neophyte ? - Component Video Problem
            by lusich
            Hello,

I purchased my 1055 this past December, and it is a version 2.2.6 unit. I like it quite a bit (remote control notwithstanding), but have had a couple video passthrough issues. In particular:

-When passing component video signals through the 1055 to my Pioneer...

            component video

This has been brought uo before, but is still a pet peeve of mine. Supposedly according to Rotel (via my serial number) I have the increased Mhz for passing component video. But if I run something through it (DVD-progressive or my XBox-progressive) the picture looks less sharp. And I mean really less...

Ref 50 - component video switching question
            by Kevin P
A customer with a B&K Reference 50 is upgrading to a plasma. He is using the component video switching/upconversion feature in his Ref 50, and was wondering if it's possible to assign the same component input to more than one A/V input.

In this case, he wants to have the option of...
