    RDV 1060 quirk

I have found that the remote button for swithcing between interlace and progressive does some weird things. First time it happened, it flipped between the 2 modes but changed some of the setup menu items.

Last night, something even weirder happened. Was listening to Eagles DVD no problem. Popped it out and put in U2 DVD......no sound!!! Popped back the Eagles DVD...no sound. It wouldn't pick up DTS or PCM.....hmm. Put in a normal CD, beautiful sound!!!

After turning the whole system on and off a couple of times, it still wouldn't produce any sound from any type of DVD. Then I hit the "P SCAN" button on the remote and sound appeared in "interlace" mode. Pressed it again and then got sound in "Progressive" mode. Very weird.

I still can't get into some of the setup menu items. They are greyed out.

Anyone else having these types of problems?

Yeah - I noticed switching between pscan and interlaced throws the 1060 off for as much as a minute when watching DVD's. Obviously there's no reason to switch while watching - I did it out of curiosity. It took the player awhile to recover. I haven't tried it while listening to music.

As far as the unaccessible parts of the Menu I experienced the same thing. the 1060 won't allow access to the PREFERENCES menu unless there is no disc in the unit... Simply stopping playing apparently doesn't cut it. Kinda wierd.

How does your picture look? I have a thread regarding things looking darker and loss of shadow detail. I picked up a nice Component Video cable yesterday so I'm going to reactivate that thread.

Imp. Question for Rotel RDV-1060 owners!!!!
      by chinets
For all Rotel RDV-1060 Owners: My question is that I bought for the first time a DVD Audio ( Diana Krall...Jazz) and put it in my RDV-1060 that is processed through a Rotel 1065 5.1 Amp 1t 5x100W and to my surprise the RDV-1060 would not play the DVD Audio I bought. The 1060 clearly states that it...

Rotel RDV 1060: Audio Decoders output, goto & other problems after software upgrade
      by nvdeynde
      Hi,

My RDV 1060 had firmware 2.0.8 and I know this one has several problems with DVD-Audio discs and progressive scan.

I assume the latest software available now is 2.1.2
I have a few questions to owners with that software installed:

      1) How is the...

Rotel 1060 Video connection with 1098/Plasma.
      by >>Angel<<
      Dear Rotel enthousiasts,

Yesterday I bought a Pioneer plasma screen to complete my Rotel setup
After concluding all the (required) connections I found out that there's a problem displaying (progressive or not) an 1060 image on the Plasma screen.
      I really hope...

      DVD-Audio discs "locking-up" my RDV-1060
      by Cracking Oboe
O.K. after all my praise about the RDV-1060 I have run into a 'glitch' with some DVD-A discs.

I mail ordered all of the Beethoven Symphonies (BPO/Abbado) on DVD-A. These recordings were rated 9/10 in Absolute Sound Magazine, so I was really looking forward to them.
      The...

      Hello,
