    Rotel newbie

    Hi all you Rotel gurus..

My current home cinema consists of B&W speakers.
To be exact: DM605 S2 as fronts, LCR6 S2 as centrer and DM601 S2 as rear/surround speakers Oh. Almost forgot my ASW2500 subwoofer. I also have a NAD surround receiver, but I'm fed up with that thing..

So I am considering takeing the move to Rotel. Not such a bad idea?

I'm trying to get a deal on these used Rotel products: RDV-1050, RMB-1075 and RMS-1066. I know that the 1066 is changed to 1068 now, but would it pay off for me to get a 1068 instead of that 1066??

I might get a great deal on these items since they have the same owner and thay are only three months old, so thay shouldn't be worn out..

Can any of you give me some tips?
And how would the Rotel equipent sound with my B&W speakers.

    Cheers
Blaa, hoping to become a proud Rotel owner within reasonable time.

    B&W DM605, DM601, LCR6 and ASW2500.

As you might have noticed by now this forum features a search engine. Maybe you could try and use it first... I think you'll find it very hard not to find anything about this topic.

I think the 1068 has been out for a while longer than 3 months - so I'd suspect his 1066, and the rest of the equipment is older.

Anyhow the 1066 sounds great, but is lacking on some features that might be critical to you.

      - video up-conversion
      - via above, the ability to use one screen menus when connected to your TV via component video cables
      - improved bass management, including per speaker set adjustments
      - Tone controls per speaker set

If you have an older TV and will use S-video or below, then the 1066 could be a great value for you. If you primarily use component video to your tv, you should consider the 1068 instead.

        1066 vs 1068
        by mrVoodoo
Hi all, my first post and I could use some quick help here. Upgrading from my current setup to a 1066 or 1068. Now the 1068 will obviously be more expensive, but how much of an improvment would it be?

My priorities are first of that it sounds good in 2ch, is there a great deal of differance...

        1066 vs 1068
        by spiffnme
I know it's been brought up before...

I have a 1066 and am curious as to what changes the 1068 has. Anything really worth "upgrading" for? Will there be much of a sonic difference (improvement)?

Or is the 1066 to 1068 a pretty minor change?

life with rsp 1068 vs 1066 vs 1098
        by rosros
In feb I had a chance of comparing side by side the rsp 1098 with the rsp 1066. at the time, I was thinking about upgrading from the 1066 to the 1098. the rsp 1098 was a loaner from my rotel dealer. I had the 1098 for one week. Although the 1066 is a wonderful unit, for my usage, ultimately, it was...

        Upgrading;Differences 1066/1068/1098
        by rosros
The Rotel web site is updated to include the 1066 replacement, the 1068. They also have the 1068 manual online. Having both 1098 and 1066 inhouse (wished the 1068 was here), I compared features, sound and the manuals for the 1098 to the 1068 to the 1066; here are the differences: Note I own the 1066...
