Starting to hear a popping with 1098/1095 combo

Is this normal or fixable? I was watching "Resident Evil Apocolypse" last night, and while it was loading I heard a few "pops" come from the speakers, not sure what one it was coming from. I heard this a couple times, not constantly. It has happened before this too, just like a day ago, so it just started to happen, I've had the 1098 for a couple weeks and the 1095 for a month or so.

    Help

As the air dries out in winter its likely normal to hear more static related pops.

Are you serious?? It's been raining like hell here, so it's more humid than it's been lately. I have been hearing more static noise too in the rear channels when I sit there waiting for the DVD to load, it's pretty annoying, any way to cure these things? Could it be my interconnects?? I just recently (end of last week) started running the component cables through the 1098 for video switching, can that introduce more noise?

      Thanks Andrew!

I've been running the Components through the 1098 since I got it and I haven't noticed any noise what so ever, my speakers are almost as quiet powered off as they are on...

I have noticed a pop once or twice when powering on the unit (more the power on to the 1095 using the 12v trigger). It was a very minor pop, but basically power just coming from it to the speakers (I think).

It could be something to do with your interconnects...I wouldn't rule that out, I'm still finishing up, upgrading all my interconnects (for the CD player and Tuner and from the TV, to all high quality Belden cables with Canare connectors. To me this has made a huge difference in the picture and sound quality. Make sure you get good shielded cables and hopefully you should be good...

But my system is still dead quiet and I've had my setup as long as you have.

I need to get my RB-1080 over to bi-amp the mains and get a lot better sound! hee hee. Right now my 1080 is being used over my friend's house to power his mains, and it's amazing hearing the difference over his Onkyo receiver...there's such a change in sound stage and quality of the sound coming out of his speakers...though I'm not sure if he really notices it...because he didn't want to get the upgrades
        Digital Audio makes me Happy.

            Scott,
What kind of dvd player are you using? I started a thread some time ago about this same kind of problem. I even exchanged the unit, rsp1068, for another, and I still had the same kind of popping noises. Turns out it was the old dvd player I had that wasn't sending the digital signal out properly. This still happens with my Motorola HD cable box when changing channels. But now that I replaced my old dvd player with an HTPC, all is well. No more popping during layer changes, or when selecting menu items, etc. Now if I could just get my cable company to give me a better built box...

Dan - I just started to notice it, not during power up, in the middle when I'm loading a DVD. I will figure it out!!

Andrew - Yeah, it's weird for us right now

ILuvDefTech - I run the Denon DVD 1600, works great, from what I can tell nothing is wrong with it. I will monitor this issue and see where it goes, hopefully it will stop, I don't want to damage my speakers is all!
