2 Component outputs from 1068? And Zone 2 help!!!

A few questions about adding a second display in the bedroom.

1 How long can I run component cables from the RSP-1068 output? (around 15metres is the max length I would need.)

2 Is it feasible to spit this component output somehow to get prog scan to this second display?

3 I seem to remember that s-video cannot carry prog scan feed ? Is this true?

4 Plan to use Zone 2 or REC outputs to feed spare channels on 1075 to run audio into bedroom.

    5 Any further advice / suggestions ???!!!

    Regards
    Steve

15meters is fine. I've got a 1055 running a projector about 30 meters away just fine.

You will need a component video splitter. Nice ones are about $150-$300 that have 5 outputs. I haven't priced nor seen one for just two outputs. You CANNOT use RCA y-splitters.

    Correct.

Use the zone 2 so you can get volume adjustment. Seperate speaker level volume controls won't do too well from a 1075 at full tilt.

      Component video

Cool, Thank you Kevin. I posted a similar question over in the HT area about the component video. I have tried a few web searches and get nothing convincing about the splitting of component. Assuming the splitters are "powered" units and indeed amplify the signals? Can you recomend a good one? I would like to send all video to my HD monitor as well as the component "in" on my dvd recorder, and let the RSP-1068 do all the switching. Thanks again....

        Not enough component outputs!

I have a front projector and also a HDTV both of which are capable of handling HD input signals. Unfortunately, many of my source devices such as DVD player and Digital TV Set Top Box only have one set of component outputs. I would love to send a HD signal to both the projector and HDTV. Does anyone...

        Little Zone 2 Gotchas
        by starford
I've been playing with Zone 2 functions on my C1, and have found a few things out via trial and error-

        1. For video, you have one option: composite video. Clever specifications readers may have picked this out of the specs list, but I missed it. There are no S-Video or Component outputs...

Oppo has released its' long awaited upconverting universal DV-970HD player with HDMI connection and SACD & DVD-A. Great for those of us with internal or external scalers. Here are the features you get for a lower MSRP than the older 971H player:

        Zone 2 Revisited

OK... So hooking up Zone 2 now.

The question I have is as follows ... I have the Sat receiver and DVD all hooked up by S-Video & Toslink and Component & Digital Coax respectively.

Now if I understand the procedure properly I need to run a separate set of analogue...

        Blu-ray and component video . . .
        by NMG
        Hey everyone,

I'm considering picking up a Blu-ray player, but I'm a little confused about the video outputs. I read online that on some discs, you are required to use HDMI outputs to view HD material.

Unfortunately, my TV is an older model and it only has component inputs...
