RSX-1056 CDN Price Question? Comparison to Pioneer 56TXi?

Hi, I just bought a Pioneer 56TXi and I like it but I am just wondering if anyone has compared it to the 1056? I have a month to exchange the Pioneer for the 1056 and I am thinking of seeing if I can bring the 1056 home to compare. Anyone buy one recently here in Canada? What kind of price should I being shooting for? I have read through some of the threads and a while back I saw someone buy one for around the $1700.00 CDN range. Maybe a little cheaper now? I think it is tagged at $2000.00 in the store. I was also wondering what a good price on the RSX-1067 would be? I bought the Pioneer for $1475.00 plus taxes. Thanks in advance for any help with this.

I think I will. I just read the opinions on the different receivers and you pretty soon start to second guess your decision. I am sure they are close on sound quality and the Pioneer is a bit cheaper. The Pioneer has a strong amplifer section and sounds great so I think I will stick with it. Thanks for the help.

I hate to be the fly in the ointment but the Pioneer does NOT sound as good as the Rotel by a long shot to my ears.If we are talkin' reliability I got problems w/Rotel but for sound v others in class there is NO comparison, imo.I could have had the 55txi for about half the price of the 1056,it was hardly in the running after a long audition.

I am still looking at getting the Rotel. I am waiting for my dealer to get one in and I am going to give it a shot. How is around $1675.00 CDN for a RSX-1056? Anyone get one for much less? The only thing I am concerned about is power. The Rotel ouputs a little less power when it comes to continuous power but they are roughly the same in dynamic power ratings. The rotel seemed to fail the A-wtd Signal-to-Noise test in a review at AVTECH magazine. That is where I got the power output as well. What exactly is the A-wtd Signal-to-Noise test and is it something to be concerned with or possibly only the unit that was tested? Is Dynamic power just as important as continuous ratings? The Rotel has 8200 X 4 capacitors and the Pioneer has 22,000 X 2, what bearing would this have on power? I have Energy C-8's for mains, AC300 for a center and Boston Acoustics rears. Thanks for any help in advance.

I would try and not focus on specs and values of components. Let your ears be the final judge. If you have the oportunity to demo both then you should do it.

Agreed listen to both and pick the one that best suits your tastes...bench mark scores are interesting but you don't listen to a bench

Sorry, yes I meant 27,000 X 2. The 54Tx has 22,000 X 2. I will have to see if the store will hook both of them up. They aren't really set up to switch between them right now. They are set up for their sound rooms to look great but no functionality for actual testing. The salesman I bought the 56TXi from didn't help much or seem to want to do anything, I think he figures I should just buy it on looks or something. Thanks again guys for the advise.
