There're some old SPDIF devices (like AV7110-based DVB-cards found in many HTPCs) that cannot set the non-linear status bit in the SPDIF stream. In these cases the AV-receiver/processor itself has to analyse the PCM data in the SPDIF stream and switch on the DD/DTS decoder, if a DD/DTS stream is detected.
Unfortunately my 1068 pre doesn't handle these streams and only some noise is avalaible in preouts... is there any way to force the decoder into DD or DTS mode? I'd like to get this feature corrected in future firmwares, so should I complain this to the Rotels helpdesk or could this request be forwarded directly to Rotel sw engineers?
