    1095 amp questions

I am looking at picking up a 1095 on audiogon. Right now I have an offer from a dealer in Hong Kong for a nice price but it is the 220-240v version. Since I am in the US, will this work OK or do I need to have one of the US versions? Sorry if this is a newbie question!

I'm not an electrical engineer, but there are converters to change the current from 110 volts to 240 volts and vice-versa. However, I'm not sure if this would impact the performance of a high current unit such as the 1095 or not. I'd guess it probably wouldn't, but this is only a guess.

We need the advice of a more knowing person here. Anyone had experience using voltage converters?

Pretty sure an authourized Rotel dealer could point you in the right direction to get it serviced(converted). Unless the deal is a steal it may cost you more in the end. Price out the conversion before you commit.

Rotel equipment supports both 230volts/50 Hz and the USA 110v/60Hz, but an authorized dealer has to switch it. They simply make the same equipment for the whole world, but just switch depending on where they are going to sell it.

          Hi,

I'm experiencing intermittend humming/bromming from the internal transformers, quite loud sometimes ( I can hear it about 4 meters away from the amp when volume turned down )

I'm not speaking of ground hum or buzz through the speakers but purely the bromming of the...

Has anyone not changed their breakers and in wall wiring to accomodate the RMB-1095?

          Any problems?

It uses 1200 watts according to the spec and when you add in the tv, xbox and everything else you get close to the 15 Amps my breaker and wires are rated at. If you have...

Problems with amperage and Rotel 1095

I have just had the opportunity to join the elite rotel club. I have purchased a Rotel 1095. It is to be used to drive 2 ML Vantage, a Matrix 805 as center channel, and 2 B&W matrix 804 as surrounds. I use an ONKYO 705 as a preamp. The receiver also has a velodyne subwoofer attached. A panamax 5300...

D/A converters in the RCD-1072 vs D/A converters in receivers or Pre/pros
          by Jeff
I have a love for 2 channel music. However, I also enjoy listening to dvd concerts with my Sony STA-DA777ES receiver. When listening to a concert or a music vidio (which may be included on that dvd) in two channel mode, there is a distinctive superiority of the d/a converters in my rcd-1072. My...

          Hi
I was watching a movie ("the day after tomorrow") using my rotel dvd (1060) player. the volume on my processor indicated 80, during one of the "boomy" episodes I thought I heard some clipping from my front speakers( B&W 803s). during that time, my Monster power conditioner...
