    RSP-1098 and bass management

    Does anyone (Andrew) know how bass management will be implemented in Rotel RSP-1098?

    I mean will we have the same issue of rsp-1066 on analogue 7.1 inputs?

      I hope we get the option to switch between full DSP support and 100%analog bypass on the 7.1 inputs.

          Until someone gets to try it out in a real world situation, we probably can't know for sure. Hopefully, Rotel was listening. I'm hoping that added flexibility with regard to bass management would be a key aspect of this new pre-pro.

                  Apparently the new 1098 will have a menu option to toggle how the bass management works

                      Actually, doing bass management on the multi-channel input is not bad, but it should follow what you set in the speaker configuration. A pass through option would be fine with me too, which leaves bassmanagement up to the player (if they have any, some high-end sacd players don't have bassmanagement, since they think its best left up to the pre-amp).

                          Well I have both the RSP1098 and C1 side by side and I have had the C1 a full week and have played CD, DVD, Satellite TV's and am ready to give a general comparison of strengths and weaknesses.

                          COMPARING the CD source in Stereo the sound on the Halo was was much richer than the Rotel....

                          I'm beginning to wonder if the firmware in my 1066 has some bugs with regard to bass management. I was one of the people who verified that the 6.1 inputs had the “bass-doubling” issue. Now, I've noticed that the 1066 seems to have bass management issues in regular 2-channel as well.
