What makes the 1080 better than the 1095?

Why would the 1080 be a better amp for 2 channel when the 1095 has the same output as the 1080? Does it have different inside components?

The reason I ask is that if I use the 1095 right now in 2 channel mode for music, would the 1080 sound better in the same setup?

This is really is considered a personal preference, there are some who have debated this very issue check out this thread here .

I like the sound of my RB-1080 as opposed to my RMB-1095 running my mains and surrounds, providing a dedicated amp for my front channel duties.

However the bottom line is that it comes down to what your ears prefer, and of course the disclaimer, your mileage may vary.

    Hope this helps,

        Hi,

If you are going 7.1 then the 1080 is a good match for the 1095 and will (for most people's ears) give a slightly better stereo sound than the 1095.... You will most nice the difference on pure stereo listening between the two, which is a revealing format of amplifier differences. Most people going 7.1 either get the 1080 for the fronts OR get the 1070 for one pair of the surrounds...

However if you want the Wow factor (you know "Wow that sounds way better") hen I suggest you consider the 1090 which is a serious amp indeed with its dual mono-block construction and massive current drive capabilities.

PS - If you are going to bi-amp at some stage in the future then the "voicing" between the RMB-1095 and RB-1080 is sufficiently different that you are better off staying within the same model and use two channels of the one amp on the same speaker)

          rotel 1080/1095 or 1575 to power B&W
          by wildmda
I have 803S fronts, HTM3s center, ASW855 sub and 685 backs. I am trying to decide what amp to buy. Would it be better to go with a 1080/1095 combo and biamp or by a 1575? The cost between the two scenerios is basically the same.

Thank you for your help and advise.

          RB-1080 2 channel amp update
          by Azeke
          Hello everyone.

After approximately 3 weeks of ownership, here are my quick preliminary thoughts of the RB-1080 upgrade:

          1) After 2 weeks of tweaking, my soundstage has increased in both stereo and HT, and I now appreciate 2 channel music much more, marked improvement in...

          Another happy 1077 owner

This post is a bit lengthy, but I wanted to get all of my thoughts in. I recently purchased a Rotel 1077 amp. Below are my impressions after about 3 weeks. First, to give context to the 1077’s performance, I want to quickly review were I was and how I got to where I am now. I have B&W N804’s...

What's better to push the mains, RMB-1095 or RB-1080?
          by PewterTA
Okay, I'm looking for a little bit of help here...

I have both the 1095 and 1080 and am trying to figure out which one I want to push my mains (B&W DM604 S3s). Right now I have the RMB-1095 since I haven't gotten my 1080 back off my friend (he's using it for right now until his amp...

          1 x RMB-1095 vs 3 x RB-1080?
          by hired goon
          G'day,

I've currently got an RMB-1095 5x200w amp, about 2 weeks old. For a few hundred dollars, I can trade this in to get 3 x RB-1080 2x200w amps.

I'm wondering about the advantages and disadvantages of such a move.

This is what I've come up with:
