The heat on my 1067 scares me

This Rotel 1067 receiver sure gets hot to the touch. So hot you can't keep your hand on it. My home theater cabinet/tv stand has air vents in the back and glass doors on the front. I've left the door housing the receiver cracked open. I've now cut a hole in the rear and put in a little ballbearing fan from Radio Shack. I've got it pulling air out right now. Is there a recommended air flow direction? Should I blow it back in across the receiver and let the air force it's way back out the back or just leave it sucking out from the getgo? I continually read about the Rotel receivers and processors being too hot. Some say it's normal, others say it needs to go back to the store. Mine will roast you.

I'd keep it sucking air out of the cabinate. That way it will draw cool air in rather then blowing warm air over the hot gear. You might also want to cut some air holes at the bottom of the rack to allow more cool air into the rack if you forget to crack open the front.

Well it does make a difference pulling air out. I will run the heat issue by my local dealer to get their advice. It might be normal. The replies I see doing searches on the heat issues seem to be pretty mixed.

Yet another question about RSX-1067 hiss/pop
        by rotelnyc2
        Hey all!

I'm a first time Rotel owner, been eyeing the RSX since the introduction of the 1065. First off, I did find a good amount of info on the hiss/pop issue amongst the threads, but didn't find much info on my questions and issues specifically so I decided to start a new thread,...

        1067 Ventilation Question
        by lars
        Hello Gurus,

I'd like to move it into a hardwood multi-shelf entertainment center that I have (it's currently sitting outside on a temp shelf), but as the center is mostly enclosed I will need to make some holes :-)

        Questions:
Do both fans underneath run all the...

Heat and Hum from my RSX-1067 Normal?
        by KAP
While I await the arrival of the RSX-1067 that is supposed to not have the crackling/popping issue, I have a couple other concerns that hopefully you guys can address:

When the Volume is at any level higher than "0", there is a distinct Humm, coming from all 5 speakers. This...

Wife decided between seperates and RSX 1067
        by Nolan B
Appears my wife made the final decision on what I should do with regards to upgrading from my rsx 1055. I was trying to decide between 1068/1075 and 1067. It turns out she gave me the RSX 1067 for xmas, and I have to admit I was very surprised with it

I could have returned it, but...

        Hot RB 1080 *please help*
        by asimov66
I've placed my rotel as recommended by rotel but still it's hot to my opinion.

The placement is such that the sides are very close but there is a distance made with wood so there is absout 5 cm of air gap below and about 15 cm above and no front/back cover.

        Still the rotel...
