Rotel RCD-1072 vs Denon DVD 1600

I haven't owned a seperate CD player for a LONG time, and it wasn't anywhere near "good" at the time I currently own the Denon DVD-1600, and it is used for both DVD and CD playback. Would you think there would be a big noticable difference between the 2 say for regular CD usage? What about DVD-audio? My Denon only does CD/DVD-audio, no SACD, so I would be gaining that feature at least with the Rotel correct?

Any info would be awesome! Thanks in advance!

There's no Rotel player that does SACD. I think there would be a positive difference between the two, but the level of difference would be subjective.

No, the RCD1072 is a CD player only. No SACD or DVD-A playback. I don't know if you would benefit from the upgrade to the Rotel as I've never heard the Denon. But I did own a Denon DCM360 carousel CD player and the Rotel was better. Subtilely, but better. This player has been gettng pretty good reviews from the audio press. Go to the Rotel website and check out the reviews.

Ugh, I thought it had SACD for some reason. Man, now I wonder just for CD playback if it would be better than the Denon. I have a LOT of CD's, I don't own a SACD or DVD-audio, I want to own them, just never got the 5 rca cables to hook up my analog signal. I really like the looks of the Rotel gear, and having a dedicated CD player would be nice, IF it there was a significant sound improvement over the Denon. hmmm... more stuff to think about

You'd be better off buying an external DAC like the DAC1 that's been talked about in the audio area of the forum. That way you'd improve the sound from your Denon by a huge margin but not have the extra transport. That's what i'll be getting as I can't get away from my CD Jukebox as a source so this would give me the best of both worlds.

            by Rob W.
Does anyone out there have a Denon 1910 dvd player? I am thinking of buying one and would like to know if this player is reliable? Have you had any problems with it? How long have you had it? I've seen good reviews on this player. How's the picture and the sound? I've heard that it is difficult...

Best Rotel Player for 2 Channel?
            by Spookyslow
I'm in search of player for my 2 channel setup. I'm currently running an RC 1070 pre (next on the upgrade list) w/ an RM 1080 amp w/ 805's.

Basically, I've given up on finding a quality digital music source and have conceded that I've got to return to discs. I'm also very content...

My comparision of RSP 1098 to Denon AVC A1SE+ (AVR5803) (long)
            by Ossi
So the last 2 days I have been listening intensively to the RSP 1098 and my “old” Denon AVC A1SE+ which is more known as AVR 5800+ (with upgrade) in the US.
This comparison does only represent personal view of both units side by side. However I thought it might be interesting to let you guys...

            DVD player for CD's
            by charles17
            Hi,

I am quite new to this great forum, and already have to say thank you to many for help and input.

At present I am upgrading from a Denon 1602 to a Rotel RSX 1056. One of my main reasons is I love 2 channel music too, and with the Denon do not listen to it. I am a Rotel...
