G'day,
Finally traded in my RMB-1075 for an RMB-1095. Matched with an RSP-1068 pre/pro and an RCD-1072 CD player.
I was alternating between the 1095, or keeping the 1075 and adding an RB-1080. I chose the 1095 because (a) it's better to have too much power than not enough and (b) I can always get a 1080 later to drive the fronts, and (c) if I do add a 1080 to the 1095, then the fronts and centre will be driven by the same wattage, which wouldn't be the case for the 1075 + 1080.
Anyway, I haven't had time to test the 1095 out fully yet, vs the 1075. Nothing jaw-dropping so far. Bass doesn't seem as pronounced, though that may be because the 1075 was a bit bloomy. Will need to do more tests later.
I did get the infamous buzz through my speakers. Guess I'll have to start removing components to see if it's just the ground loop, or some other interference.
I picked up a flyer at the store on my way out, but didn't get to look at it until I'd set up the RMB-1095 at home. The store is having a stock clearance, and one of the items listed (though now crossed out) was a black demo RMB-1095 for one-third of the price I paid for my new silver RMB-1095. Grrrrrr. I could have got that new RB-1080 (and more!) with the price difference.
