    rsp-1068 running really hot

Looking at past threads on this, it seems like this is just the nature of the beast. But it still bothers me a bit because sometimes it's too hot to even touch. I have it in a Salamander rack with about 2 or 3 inches of space above it with the extended, ventilated rear panel. The sides are enclosed. I don't want to move it to the top of the rack. I'm wondering if I should be worried, if I should install a fan, etc. If a fan is an option, what kind of fan and how would it have to be hooked up?

I actually have the Salamander rack, try removing the extended ventilated rear panel, it provides better ventilation. Give it a test. However with the sides being enclosed I would think you are better off with the 1068 on the top, IMHO. That's where my RSP-1098 is located, and it is merely warm to the touch, even after extended play.

    Hope this helps,

If it runs that hot you're heading for premature failure.

Got all my kit in a now fan ventilated wooden cabinet. All units run at varying degrees of heat, the RSP1066 probably the hottest then the 1080 and then the 1075.

Was wondering what is too hot? Genrally the 1066 is pretty hot to the touch but not too hot to touch. I assume this is...

When the weather is hot it gets hot enough where I wouldnt want to keep my hand on it for any length of time (my apartment has terrible air...

        RSP 1098 running hot?

I couldn't find another thread on this topic, but it probably has been covered...

I just got a 1098 a couple weeks ago (love it). Mine is in a cabinet that is completely enclosed, but I am using a series of fans to pull the hot air out of the cabinet. I think there is good airflow, and...

        How hot is to hot

Due to the A51 being larger than I anticipated, it had to be installed in an enclosed cabinet. I can prop the cabinet door open and it also has a small exhaust fan. I have never had any problems with the A51 over-heating but I was concerned and finally bought a thermometer. After many hours of playing...

Anybody build a salamander like component cabinet?
        by bladerunner
I want to build a component cabinet like a Salamander triple. I haven't found any good threads here yet. Found lotsa speaker cabinet hits but couldn't isolate out any component cabinet threads.

Any good way to find these?

Does this exist or am I getting too carried away?...
