    How hot is to hot

Due to the A51 being larger than I anticipated, it had to be installed in an enclosed cabinet. I can prop the cabinet door open and it also has a small exhaust fan. I have never had any problems with the A51 over-heating but I was concerned and finally bought a thermometer. After many hours of playing the temp. will reach 100 degrees, is this to hot, should I look into the zbreeze fan.

100 degrees is not "too hot" for a power amp. However, it is definitely too hot for a control amp or CD player.

Generally, lowering the temperature will prolong the life of the equipment. Equipment with surface mouted techology should not be exposed to big variations in temperature (heating/cooling) as this will put strain on the compontents and usually will result in early failure (this goes for most electronics except some power amps).

      Peter,

Thank you for the info, the only other piece of equipment in the cabinet with the amp is the power conditioner, I guess it worked out for the best that I could not put the A51 in the cabinet with the C2 as originally planned.

        A51 VS Gemstone
        by vivid
Has anyone heard both of these amps and could you give me your impressions on them?

What I have gathered so far is that they are both excellent amps with a slightly forward leaning neutral sound. The main difference it that the A51 is 5x250 and the Gemstone is 7X200. I am leaning towards...

        Rotel power amp operating temperature
        by TimbaLand
        Hi guys

I have a Rotel RB1090, RMB1095 and RMB1565. It is normal for the 1090 and 1095 to be warm to hot while operating because of them being Class AB. All my amps are in a closed cabinet with improvised ventilation. The 1565 is cool throughout operation due to it being a class D. The...

How your Classe components affect your listening room temperature?

My family room which is my getaway and only a decent substitute for a dedicated home theater, even though it has a much high WAF, has an issue that I am curious to know if and how it affects the rest of you.

This room is about 22 X 22 with an entrance that is about 4 feet wide with no...

        How hot is too hot?
        by Stevebez
Got all my kit in a now fan ventilated wooden cabinet. All units run at varying degrees of heat, the RSP1066 probably the hottest then the 1080 and then the 1075.

Was wondering what is too hot? Genrally the 1066 is pretty hot to the touch but not too hot to touch. I assume this is...

        Halo A51
        by Jon SS
I just bought the C2 and A51 combo. After almost a year of research I am very happy with my decision.

Some quick questions about the A51. It gets very hot (which I realise is normal), and I was wondering how the heat sinks work. Are they supposed to get very hot so that the compenents...
