    RB-985 MKII - A good amp?

    I found a used Rotel RB-985 MKII 5-channel amp. Is this a good amp to get? Is $550 a fair price? According to the ad it's 120 watts/channel, no other specs listed. I know amps don't really evolve much so if it's old that shouldn't be a problem, unless there's something about this model that isn't good (the sound, performance, reliability, etc).

    Any thoughts?

      The MKII is very similar to the 1075 in looks and power and would be a good used purchase if its in good condition.

          I corrected the model # in my post, it's RB-985 MKII, not RMB-985.

          It seems to have mostly positive reviews on AudioReview. A negative is it doesn't seem to have a 12 volt trigger. Also, I woulnd't mind 6 or 7 channels instead of just 5.

          I'll have to sleep on it.

              The model is 110 watts per channel. My friend has it and loves it.

                      Is there much difference between the RB985 and RMB1075?

                      Reason I ask is that there are a couple for sale at $600 or should I hold out and save for the 1075?

                      hi all having done a bit of "reasearch into older rotel power amps"
                      will soon recieve rb 985 5 channel amp, and was in the future thinking of buying rb 1080 to power front channels for av/sterio duties,
                      have know noticed there is older models avaliable ie rb991 (200watts)...
