Does the RSX-1055 have a FireWire interface In particular, I'm interested in whether the receiver can firewire link to Pioneer's DV-47Ai DVD player. Thanks in advance.

There's no fireware ports on the Rotels so no you won't be able to connect the Pioneer in that way.

Furthermore, that's a proprietary firewire link, intended to connect the DV-47Ai only to a similarly-equipped Pioneer receiver..

Thanks for the info. I suspected not, but just getting started with HT. Also, losing patience with the wait for the rdv-1060, and exploring alternate players. Anyone have any indication if the long overdue 1060 is worth holding for another month (or months)?Comment

the DV47ai is not as proprietary as you may think and by the years end there are plans to make it non-proprietary. which could just be done with Firmware upgrades.
Since Rotel doesn't currently have a Firewire port, this all will not matter untill they do.Comment
