    Faceplate Cleaning

Hi all- I'll try to get the ball rolling.

I'm the owner of an A308cr pre and A308cr amp. Over the years, the face plates, around the input select buttons, and the on/off buttons, have become stained. I guess from the oil on my fingers.

Could anyone suggest the optimum way to clean the stains? All else about the two units is a 10. :T

    Thanks in advance.

I use DeOxit. Spray on a soft rag, and wipe the faceplate. Wipe off the excess with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth, and buff.

The faceplates of these pieces, between 35 and 38 years old, were cleaned with DeOxit:

never used deoxit but sure looks like does the job. something will keep in mind for those stubborn stains.

I've always used a product called mr sheen

it does clean very well removing grime and leaves a nice clean look/sheen to whatever it cleans. but not sure if something available where you are

I never considered using DeOxit either. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give the DeOxit a try. Will try to post the before and after.

Picture of compleated Tweeter Faceplate Vifa XT
            by Kingdaddy
Here is a picture of the Oak tweeter faceplate I turned on a lathe, it took some modifying to get the sound right. The throat was originally too deep and made the Vifa XT even more directional then it already is so I took a little off the back to shallow out the wave-guide like throat, this seemed...

            by fjhuerta
            Hi all,

I keep reading about how the Dayton RS52 mid has an aluminum faceplate...

Yet my pair has a plastic faceplate...

Are there two kinds of RS52's?

            RCD-1072: faceplate changeable?
            by hendge
Long story short .... recently bought a used RCD-1072 in black. As I'm now upgrading some other gear, I'm making an overall switch to silver. Is the faceplate on Rotel gear an easily replaced part? Can this be reasonably done by a user or dealer? And any idea how much the part would be?
