    RCD-1072: faceplate changeable?

Long story short .... recently bought a used RCD-1072 in black. As I'm now upgrading some other gear, I'm making an overall switch to silver. Is the faceplate on Rotel gear an easily replaced part? Can this be reasonably done by a user or dealer? And any idea how much the part would be?

Just figured I'd explore this first before I sell the black and seek out silver.

    Thanks for your time!

I'd try your dealer first and an email to Rotel second

I emailed Rotel asking about the silver insert for a black RB-10xx face plate and was told "sorry" no can do.

I know that some of their equipment is changable.

I want to replace my 1098's front panel from black to silver. The panel was about 150 GBP plus whatever Rotel want for fitting, for which they quoted a little over 1 hour.

The CD player has to get at least the front of the try changed + buttons + front plate. Its a bit complicated

Good point. I hadn't even considered the tray and the buttons ... for some reason I was thinking they were consistent accross color schemes, but they are not.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, looks like I'll be selling the black

Naaan, that one must be easy to change

After hearing that, maybe that someone will start a nice aftermarket-blue-led-installation company
