    Sony STR-555ES/Lexicon DC-1??

    Hello...

I hope this isn't a stupid question. I got real lucky and picked up a Sony STR-555ES (Brand new in box/$400/he picked the unit up with his Diner's club card because he had to use the points...Not interested in HT) from a guy on Yahoo that just happened to live in my City. The unit has a 5.1 input for the new audio format(s). I am wondering if the Sony can be ran together with the Lexicon and still receive/give the 5.1 input (SACD/DVD-A) to the Lexicon for 5.1 output? Thanks!!

Will, good questions, not sure I know the question yet for sure, let alone the answer.

I do this with my receiver/lex setup. I utilze a digital output of the Lex and input that to my Elite 24TX. So, I do have 5.1 to my satellite receiver. I don't however do any reverse directional stuff, as there is nothing in the bedroom that I want to hear in the great room...

      Lex/Anyone...

I was hopeing to find a way to combine the two units because the Sony receiver has the 5.1 inputs (SACD/DVD-A) that I want to use.

Not a stupid question at all...

This may sound a little like my reply in the thread on MLP. Currently, there is no way to take advantage of DVD-A or SACD with the MC-1 or DC-2. At this time the only output available from DVD-A and multichannel SACD is 5.1 analog.

There are switchers available that could switch from the outputs of the DVD-A or SACD player to the outputs of the Lexicon processor. However, these will introduce noise and distortion to the signal. That is exactly what we're trying to avoid! All of the processing in the Lexicon processors is done in the digital domain to keep noise and distortion to a minimum.
