    Is anyone using Sony ES receiver's as a pre-pro, and what amp(s) are you using? Thanks!!

    I hope this isn't a stupid question. I got real lucky and picked up a Sony STR-555ES (Brand new in box/$400/he picked the unit up with his Diner's club card because he had to use the points...Not interested in HT) from a guy on Yahoo that just happened to live in my City....

    I finished my Halo for now, this should keep me satisfied for a few years and allow me to focus on the Video weakness of my system. The new amps sound wonderful and a bit more forward then my Sony amps, I had to turn the input gain down on my front 3 tweeters immediately. Once I got everything balanced...

    Another option could be HK 520 instead of the ES receiver. I haven't seen much talk about Sony around here, but the ES line allows you to turn off internal amps when...
