Welcome to HT Guide and thank you for participating in Club Integra.
By "difference" you mean besides the ".1" in the name? :>) Not much other than slightly different physical dimensions and a three pound difference in weight. In all other significant respects, their specifications appear to be identical.
Of course if you feel that THX Ultra2 certification (RDA-7.1) for amplifiers is a significant difference from THX Ultra certification (RDA-7), then you'd want to get the one which has the certification you prefer.
I have heard that the RDA-7 works better with some pre/pro and speaker combos than others, so there may also be some combination of components that the RDA-7.1 would fare better with than others as well. But I'd expect that operationally they would both perform pretty close to the same high level of refinement.

RDA-7.1, RDA-7 differences
According to Victor Khomenko from BAT ( BAT designed the RDA-7 and the RDA-7.1 amps): "The two amplifiers are very similar, but the 7.1 has still several significant changes with respect to RDA-7. The power distribution copper bur structure was added as per Integra Research corporation request. Also, some components were changed, and circuit layout updated also based on the Onkyo requests."

by Steve GoffAs promised, here are my thoughts on my Integra Reseach RDA-7, which I use with my RDC-7 processor. In my current setup, I'm using the balanced connections between the processor and the amp, having purchased 7 balanced Silvercats from Doug and a balanced Coppercat for the sub (actually, two Coppercats,... -
by Steve GoffMost folks who post here have RDC-7 processors, so not much is said about Integra Research's great amp, the RDA-7, which was designed by Balanced Audio Technology. I just picked up my new RDA-7 today, and will hook it up as soon as I can get a friend to help me get it out of the box and carry it up... -
by ZzapI'm sorry I missed this Q&A session
I wanted to hear what their stand was on THX certification.
I know that they've had products certified in the past but it seems that they've stopped certifying newer products - my RMB-1075 is certified, my RSP-1098 is not.

by Jon SSIf you only have a 5.1 set up and are using the RDA-7 amp is it possible to use 2 of the power amp's channels (bi-amp) for each of the front speakers thereby using 300W for the 2 fronts and 150W for the centre and each surrond. If so, how do you do this?
Many thanks -
by Jon SSI was wondering if any of you use the RDA-7 in an entertainment cabinet and have any problems with overheating.
I was considering putting the amp in a custom unit but keeping the doors open when in use.
Any comments appreciated. Many thanks - Loading...
