    C2 only 2 component in?

I was checking out the C2 again, in hopes of moving forward with a purchase now that I've decided I'll forego HDMI for a while, and discovered to my dismay that the C2 only has 2 component video inputs! So, that's a DVD player and a satellite dish and....oops, I'm out.

My 4802 has three, which isn't spectacular, but considering it is several years older and less expensive, I must say I'm surprised. I guess I have to go to the C1 to get three? Ouch, that's a big step up for something so small

Which is 2 too much, if you ask me. Video and Audio should be kept in separate boxes in a high-end system. (Otherwise you might as well go with a cost effective do-it-all receiver)...

Out of curiosity, let's see what users of the C1/C2 think about this subject http://www.htguide.com/forum/showthread.php4?t=25338

Yes, 2 components for the C2, three for the C1. I have two of the three used in my C1, but I use HDMI now, so they're underutilized there.

So let me turn this into a better question...

what's a good external component switcher? Let's assume I need four inputs: D* receiver, DVD player, BluRay player, PS3 (i don't have them all, but it's not at all out of the question).

Personally, i wish my pre-pro would do this, but I can understand Peter's sentiment (each component has its focus and does it well and does only that). I'm just not sure if the $4k range is quite the level where you can assume everyone can (or wants to) afford an external switcher.

Zektor is always the first that comes to mind. The 4.1 model can be used as a component video switcher or 5.1 multichannel audio switcher. I've been thinking about one for switching multichannel audio.

I'm running a 7.1 speaker system. Recently I'm experiencing a problem with my 4802 that I never had in the past. When I change the receiver mode to THX or Wide Screen, I only get sound from the two front speakers. For some reason the center channel and surrounds go off. Otherwise I get sound from all...

Workaround for 1066 2 component video input limitation?
            by SayersWeb
Since getting an HD cable box I have three sources of component video (cable box, DVD, Playstation 2) to use with my front projector system. I've been using S-Video with the PS2, but it does not look anywhere near as good on a 92" screen.

So, I'm trying to think of a good workaround....

            VGA cable, S-Video or Component
            by P-Dub
I was wondering which would offer the best connection from a laptop to a projector. I can either use a S-Video or a VGA cable. The projector is a fairly new portable that supports 800x600. My gut says use the VGA cable.

Though the laptop doesn't support a component connection, but in...

OK -- in a lot of ways, the RDC-7 was the "dream" component for pre/pros, and with its pending upgrade may become even more so (if we could only find out what that is really going to entail.) :>) And from all reports, the RDA-7 is one "killer" amp, and the RDV-1 is a superb DVD-Audio...
