What does THX Sub Boundary gain comp do?

    Hi,

I just got a new sub, and I am trying to figure out exactly what the setting on the C2 for "THX Ultra2 Sub Boundary Gain Compensation" does? Can someone explain this setting to me? Or is it something I just have to try to see if it sounds good?

    Thanks,
    Joshua

Hiya, Josh, and welcome to the Guide and Club Parasound!

Do you have a subwoofer specifically certified "THX Ultra2"? (chances are you don't) If not, don't even worry about it and you can leave it off. But page 35 of your C2 manual does say if you want, that you can try it both on and off to see which one gives you more "lifelike" bass.

For me, I don't even bother with that setting, especially because I've used a Behringer Feedback Destroyer to EQ my complete subwoofer bass performance spectrum in my room. All the compensation is done there.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.
