    Question about AUX outputs for a Rear Sub.

    My question is about programming for a rear sub. I have my front/main sub hooked up to the LFE/sub preout. No problems here. I have another sub in the back of my room and it is hooked up to the AUX 2 output to mimic the main sub. No problems here.
    I want to try my rear sub as a dedicated rear channel sub to see how it sounds. I programmed AUX 3 (or #9 in the menu) to be a rear sub. I set it up as{Left Surround:100% / Right Surround:100%} {Lowpass Filter:45Hz / HighPass Filter:OFF}
    I have all my speakers(LCR & LR Surrounds) set to small and the main X-over set to 45Hz.
    Will this work? Or do the Surrounds have to be set to Large? I don't know if the AUX channel will pull the rear channel info from the original incoming signal or after the bass managment has already pulled it out and set it to the LFE out.
    Anyone know how the C2 works in this manner? Or does anyone have a similar setup with good results? Thanks guys.

    Randy, I too use the aux channel for my 2nd sub that duplicates the main sub. I'm of the belief that trying to make independant subs complicates the situation and muddies the setup. My props to those who can make it work, though.

    I do believe that you got the correct settings for what you're trying to accomplish. To answer your question, I believe that the large/small settings of primary channels do not affect the auxiliary channel mixes, but I'm not sure. Should be easy for you to tell, though. Try both ways, and pick whichever works best for you.

      So far so good. Have it hooked into Aux 1 and set up as described above. Watched War of the Worlds tonight and it sounded fantastic. I know bass in non-directional but it added something being setup this way. My rear sub is corner loaded at a 45 deg angle and fires right into the back/end of my couch. There were a few scenes where it made a huge difference. Something was coming up from behind and I could feel it coming from that direction. Before, my front sub would have been playing that info as well and it would have nulled that effect. I'm going to do some back and forth testing of the different configuations on those types of scenes and see if it makes a difference. I want to try the THX Ultra Sub setup as well and see if I hear a difference. Thanks for the input.

        Hi again guys, I have another question that I hope someone can help me with.
